FEATURES

DESCRIPTION

The DCB LL9.6 modem is a full featured V.29 leased line modem. The LL 9.6 modem operates over 4-wire unconditioned leased lines at 9600 bps synchronous or asynchronous. It is an excellent choice for point-to-point leased line applications.

The LCD front panel is used to set up the following parameters for the local modem: Modem rate, modem address, RTS/CTS delay, RTS Holdover, RTS Stream, RTS Control, Transmit Carrier, Transmit Clock Source, Synchronous or Asynchronous, Receive Level, Transmit Level, Transmit Data Clamp.

The modem can send remote commands for loopbacks, test tones and to measure remote receive levels. In addition, the LCD front panel can initiate the following diagnostic tests: Line test, Digital Loopback, Analog Loopback, Remote Digital Loopback, Send 1004 Hz test tone, Remote send 1004 Hz test tone.

The LCD front panel is continuously updated to display the receive level in dBm. This is most useful when diagnosing line troubles with the telephone company.

The Network Management port is accessed through a 9-pin RS-232D asynchronous port on the rear of rear panel of the modem. Through this port it is possible to configure the modem and perform all the test diagnostics available through the LCD front panel. The Network Management port can also be used to configure the remote modem and measure the remote receive level.
