Transmit Levels

In most cases the modems should work on conventional 4 wire analog leased lines as they come from the factory. If the transmit levels need to be adjusted, proceed as follows:

For serial numbers beginning with 23 or lower, the transmit level may be changed to 0dBm by putting strap J16 ON. J16 is localted on the modem circuit board and is accessed by opening the modem case.

For serial numbers beginning with 24 or higher, a transmit level of 0dBm is selected automatically when leased line operation is selected. If a lower level is required, set modem switch 1 to OFF and set the desired transmit level in the S75 register. S75 will accept values from 0 to 20 and set the transmit level to -(S75) dBm. The default value for S75 is 128 which selects automatic transmit level selection.

Remote modem - AT&F&Znnn-nnnn <Enter> AT&M2&W <Enter> (Where nnn-nnnn is the number to be dialed) These commands must be entered on seperate lines. These entries can be made from any terminal attached to the multiplexer. After the second line is entered, the modem should immediately attempt to dial the number.
